Electronic Fields, the Electronic Art and Free Technologies Festival of the Southern Extremadura Countryside, celebrates its first edition from October 27 to 29, 2023, in Llerena, Fuente del Arco, and Reina, three rural towns located in the unique Tierra Túrdula region, in the south of the province of Badajoz.

The festival was created with the mission of becoming a meeting point for digital and interactive art, technological freedom, art linked to the land, participatory reflection on the unique challenges and potential of rural areas, and the relationship between art, culture, and contemporary rural life.

Based on a multidisciplinary and bidirectional approach, Electronic Fields aims to situate electronic art in rural Extremadura and bring the concerns of Extremadura's rural communities closer to artists and activists in the free and open technologies movement.
