Pie is a Leaflet plugin that simplifies the creation of pie chart-based proportional symbol maps. The inspiration for this plugin is a pioneering (and impressive) visualization of the great Charles Joseph Minard, Carte des quantités de viande (1858).

Too bad that pie chart haters find this type of representation a useful tool for territorial analysis because it is capable of locating and comparing absolute values and their breakdown by subcategories.
